Labor Day Hike

I planned a family hiking trip to Mount Tamalpais with my mother and sister this past weekend. I had originally planned on joining a group hike hosted by the state park volunteers but we misjudged the amount of time it would take us to get there. Last minute we stopped by a ranger station and mapped out a route. I decided we would follow the Ben Johnson trail into Muir Woods National Monument. Little did we know it would end up being a 4.5 hour hike with 2 of the hours being an uphill battle, literally. Luckily half way through the hike we came across the Muir Woods visitor center where we fueled up on organic veggies and sandwiches. The deli cafe is operated by the Muir Woods Trading Company which the gift shop is also under. At the end of it all, the burning in my thighs was well worth the fresh air, pictures captured, and time spent with family.

Finished… grrreat succcesss
